With a brand new baby in the house my entertainment options are limited to TV and Internet. Has anyone seen the movie yet? I love Wes Anderson am I missing the best movie of the year, or is it a departure from the talented director's previous masterpieces?

If I may say so this newest creation is far from Wes' last one. Infact, it seems like he has gone all the way back to Bottle Rocket. The movie was a smooth, chuckle here, chuckle there kind of film. Nothing like The Life Aquatic.
The film had some serious male bonding going on too (which was a bit over my head and between the legs for me) My roomie, Tyler, a guy, came with me who said the film was 'sweet'.
So, from a girl's perspective (mine) the film was slow and even a little bit painful. From a boy's perspective (Ty's) it seems the film was full of sentimental sweetness leaving a feeling of oneness with one's manhood.
I don't know, I was bored.
It was fun, but not fun enough for me to see a second time (not like Life Aquatic, Royal Tenenbaums or Rushmore).
So, in my opinion, chelax and chill out with baby and mommy and wait until it's out on DVD. You're not missing anything on the big screen that you wouldn't get from DVD.
